Berry Flaky ♥️ Tart

These assorted berry tarts are delicious and beautiful, yet they are incredibly easy to #bake and assemble. Made using frozen puff dough sheets, simplifies the process. This past weekend, I scanned my #Amazon Prime code at #Wholefoods when I picked up these frozen puff dough sheets for only $7 bucks. Heck of a deal and time saver!

I kicked around the idea of making a hearty shaped 💕 #dessert, so my daughter pulled out every #heart mold and cutter from my #bakery drawers. She found an old, double-heart, pastry cutter to make #fruittarts.

The double-heart tart, can be duplicated using two different sized heart cutters. Use the larger cutter to cutout and form the rim of the heart-tart. The smaller one must be gently pressed, enough only to slightly scar the puff dough. The heart tarts are then placed on a parchment lined pan. Brush with egg wash and bake at 375F degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Once cooled, take a sharp knife and remove the smaller heart and set aside as a garnish. Fill accordingly and decorate as desired.

We also made some small Duques in the shape of a heart. Duques or dukes are part of the masas #hojaldradas category. I will showcase these in an upcoming pan dulce post. The Duques are typically cut into squares, brushed with an egg wash then inverted over flake coconut. A dollop of your favorite filling can be added in the center before baking. We added dulce de leche, then baked at 375F degrees for 20 minutes, these pastries are then dusted with confectioners sugar. #yum
